Book Study Opportunity:  Join us for a conversation with Jonathan Merritt’s book, “Learning to Speak God from Scratch:  Why Sacred Words are Vanishing—and How We Can Revive Them“, on Tuesday, October 23rd at 6:00 pm in the session room.

Peace & Global Witness Offering will be received today, October 14th.  The offering supports a variety of peacemaking efforts: 25 percent is retained by the congregation, 25 percent is used by Synods and Presbyteries, and 50 percent is allocated by the General Assembly ministries.

Called Congregational Meeting and Fellowship Meal:  Today, October 14th We have 3 matters to come before us in the context of a congregational meeting at this time:

1) Approval of Nominations Slate, 2) Narrative Budget Presentation, 3) Addition of Affiliate Membership category.

This meeting is scheduled to happen in tandem with our October Fellowship Meal – we’ll be having Mike Wilson’s BBQ, slaw, and baked beans. We are asking for a $6/person contribution to share in this delightful offering.

Our Nominations Team presents the following as the slate of officers for the 2019-2021 Class of our Session: Grounds – Tilda Balsley, Finance – Thomas ThompsonMontreat – Tom Callicutt, Worship – Becky Norman, and Fellowship – Phil Neal

Caregivers will meet Monday, October 15th at 10:15am in the session room.

Fall Cleanup: The Grounds Committee clean up date will be Saturday, October 20th (rain date, October 27th) Clean up will begin at 9:00 am. Please bring garden tools if you have them.

Session will meet Sunday, October 21st following worship at 12:15pm in Fellowship Hall.

Habitat for Humanity offering will be received October 21st.

Our Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) has carefully reviewed 65 potential candidates to date and they continue to be in conversation with a number of these candidates as we discern who will offer the best fit with our congregation. Lift our PNC and the candidates under review in prayers for God’s guidance.
