FPCCDC Program and Staff

We provide childcare for ages six weeks through five-year-old pre-k. The children are separated into age groups that are developmentally compatible with each other. We abide by the state's enhanced teacher child ratio standards. Each classroom provides a developmentally appropriate environment and activities that promote each child’s development in all domains. Children’s learning experiences are incorporated through their play. Each child has the opportunity to choose from various centers, materials, and activities on a daily basis, both inside and outside.

The activities provided are matched to your child’s developmental level so that they are eager and excited to learn through play. You can expect to see your child engaged in various activities such as: career dress up in dramatic play, constructing homes in blocks, painting on easels in art, exploring magnets in science, puppets in literacy, completing puzzles in manipulatives, and much more.

Learning to function in a group setting on a daily basis is hard work. The opportunity for children to play in structured and unstructured groupings provides valuable social skills that lay a foundation for all future learning.

The staff of the CDC are facilitators in the learning process. They observe the children throughout the day and plan and provide appropriate experiences to move your child through the phases of their development. All teachers have their North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials and most of our staff have or are pursuing further education in early childhood development.
