Rev. Wes Pitts

I’m originally from Atlanta, GA, but have called NC home for more than 7 years. I’m a graduate of Queens University of Charlotte, where I received a BA in History, and McCormick Theological Seminary, where I received a Master of Divinity. After serving as the Director of Christian Education at First Presbyterian, Statesville, NC for 5 years, I accepted a call to be pastor at First Presbyterian Reidsville in October 2019.

Not only am I the pastor of First Presbyterian Church, I’m an active member of the community. I’m involved with the United Ministers of Reidsville and Vicinity (UMRV) and work with other local pastors frequently for study, mission, and educational events. I serve on the Alumni Board of Queens University of Charlotte. I serve Salem Presbytery as a member of the Commission on Ministry and am the co-moderator of the Peace and Justice Taskforce, as well as a commissioner to the 225th General Assembly of the PC(USA).

Outside of my ministry, I enjoy running, cooking, amateur mixology, reading, traveling, and cheering on my favorite teams - the Atlanta Braves, Buffalo Bills, and Georgia Bulldogs. I’ve been married to the wonderful Liz Whittington since October 2010, and together we have one son, Walt, who can frequently been seen running around the church. We also have an elderly chihuahua-mix, Sunae, who we rescued from a shelter while we lived in Korea.

You can find my in my office Tuesday - Friday each week. I try to dedicate the mornings to working in the office and to use my afternoons to work in the community or visit members of the congregation. If you’d like to make an appointment to meet with me, feel free to email or call.
